Buchholz Baseball Player Hunter Ruth Signs With Florida

On Monday, the Buchholz senior pitcher signed a national letter of intent with the University of Florida.

Hunter Ruth, a Gainesville native, grew up playing baseball all throughout Alachua County and surrounding areas. As an Under Armour All-American with a fastball that’s been clocked at 95 miles per hour, Ruth had offers coming in from Virginia, North Carolina, South Carolina and Clemson. Then came the University of Florida.

Standing on the mound at 6-foot 2-inches, he compiled 36 strikeouts throughout his junior season.

The right-handed pitcher was originally committed to South Carolina, but Florida is where he’s been shining his entire lifetime. Why stop now?

Florida’s head coach, Kevin O’Sullivan, is known for coaching up great pitchers. Now he will get to add Hunter Ruth to that long list.
