The Gator Volleyball team is back at home this weekend after sweeping Georgia last week and Mississippi State on Sunday. Now the team returns home and hosts South Carolina on Friday and Alabama on Sunday.
The Team
The Gators are currently ranked No.6 overall and No.9 in the recently released NCAA Volleyball Selection Committee. The team’s record is 22-2 overall and 12-1 in the SEC.

Redshirt sophomore Allie Monserez was named the SEC Setter of the Week making it her sixth title and Junior Rhamat Alhassan was named SEC Defensive Player of the Week. Alhassan notched 21 kills, hit .485 with 13 blocks in both of last week’s sweeps.
The Gators hit .554 against Mississippi State, making it their second-highest clip of the year.
History
The last time the Gators met with both of the teams they were able to make it a clean sweep. During South Carolina’s match, the team totaled 53 points, 38 kills and four aces and for Alabama’s match they had 64 points, 48 kills and five aces.
Head Coach Mary Wise said that Mississippi State’s offense is run as fast as the Gators.
