The Florida Gators cross country team is looking to bounce back this weekend at the NCAA South Regional Championship in Tallahassee. Both the men’s and women’s teams placed eighth in the SEC Championship. However, the last few seasons have shown that the Gators are capable of turning their play around.
Women’s Side
Elizabeth Bergh was a standout for the Gators at the SEC Championship. The sophomore received All-SEC First Team honors after finishing sixth. The team will be playing without Lauren Perry, who is out for the rest of the season with tonsillitis. Assistant coach Paul Spangler says he knows the team wants to play hard and do their best for her.

Men’s Side
The men’s team will look to Carlos Miranda and Magnus Pettersen to help propel them towards the finish line. Miranda, a senior, and Pettersen, a sophomore, have each been consistently good throughout the season. Mac Reynolds is another standout; he finished first for the Gators at the SEC Championship, and has shown great improvement over his years at UF.
Looking Ahead
The team will be traveling to Tallahassee this weekend to participate in the NCAA South Regional Championship.
