Jimbo Fisher Not Backing Off Ripping Referees

In the college football world, three losses can spell doom for a football organization. The opportunity to play in the college football playoffs or even a bowl game decrease dramatically. Currently, this is the reality #19 Florida State faces after a 37-34 loss to the #3 Clemson. FSU head coach Jimbo Fisher added controversy to the loss when he expressed his dissatisfaction with penalties after the game. The Seminoles intend to send a tape of the plays that FSU was called for penalties that Fisher disagreed with.

This past Sunday, the ACC issued Fisher a $20,000 fine for his postgame blasting of the officials.  Regardless of the fine, Fisher still believes that all coaches and players have the right to express their opinion if they believe it’s right.

Up Next

Jimbo and the Seminoles will now look to Saturday night as they go on the road to face the NC State Wolfpack. The Seminoles are looking to avoid their first four-loss ACC season under Fisher. The last time FSU lost four ACC games in a season was 2007 when Fisher was the offensive coordinator. The head coach is 1-2 when playing at NC State, and Florida State is just 5-5 over the last 10 trips.

Fisher on his thoughts on the match-up against NC State with three losses.
