No. 4 The Gator Stomp (2007)
Winning Streak Prior to Game: Florida (two)
Effect on SEC Race: Huge
Effect on National Landscape: Huge
What Happened:
A year after Florida won the second National Championship in school history, the No. 9 Gators came to Jacksonville as a heavy favorite. Embracing the underdog role, the No. 20 Bulldogs had a trick up their sleeve.
After Knowshon Moreno scored the first touchdown of the game in the first quarter, the whole Georgia team came out to celebrate. It was quite a scene to behold as a huge congregation of Bulldogs were out there stomping and jumping around.
The Dawgs’ antics came at a price of course. They ended up kicking off from their own eight-yard line, which would prove to be a microcosm in this game. The Bulldogs won 42-30, marking the only time they defeated Florida during the Tim Tebow era.
Both teams would finish behind Tennessee in the SEC East race. Florida would finish 9-4 and lose the Capital One Bowl while Georgia finished 11-2 and won the Sugar Bowl.
