Gator Football Head Coach Jim McElwain spoke to the media today in his weekly press conference to discuss the team after having a bye this past weekend. The Gators will head to Jacksonville this weekend for their annual rivalry game against Georgia.
Injury Report
Bryan Cox, Jordan Sherit, and Joey Ivey were out at practice yesterday “running around a bit” and it looks like all three of their injuries are improving. The athletic trainers and coaches should know more about them and their status on Wednesday. Also, Jarrad Davis has been playing and McElwain says that he will push through this week but they will not jeopardize anything with him. DeAndre Goolsby was out at practice yesterday and McElwain says it will be interesting to see where he is this weekend. And lastly, Tyler Jordan should be back this weekend.

The Rivalry
The Gators will meet division rivals, the Bulldogs, at Everbank Field in Jacksonville this Saturday. Both teams had byes this weekend, and Florida is coming off a win over Missouri while Georgia is coming off a loss to Vanderbilt. This rivalry game dates back to 1915 and Georgia holds a 49-42-2 record and leads the series over Florida. The Gators crush the Bulldogs 27-3 last season, and even held them scoreless in the first half of the game. McElwain says this rivalry game is unlike any other and that is partly because the city of Jacksonville is so welcoming to both teams.
