Alhassan Helps Gators Beat Aggies In Volleyball

The Gator volleyball team continues its winning ways after beating defending SEC champion Texas A&M 3-1 (27-25, 21-25, 25-23, 25-16) on Sunday in College Station, Texas.

Florida was led by junior All-American middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan who had one of the best performances by an SEC player this season. Alhassan managed to total up 27.5 points with 22 kills and 10 blocks for the night while hitting at .528 clip.

Gator coach Mary Wise said that Alhassan might have put on one of the best performance that any Gator has ever had.

Alhassan got support from senior right side Alex Holston who had 17 kills and 11 digs and from junior outside hitter Carli Snyder who racked up 11 kills and 12 digs in a double-double performance for the Gators.

At the end the the Aggies were no match for the Gators as UF registered 14 blocks and held Texas A&M to a .184 hitting percentage.

The Gators will be back home for the next two weeks and prepare to face Mississippi State on Friday.
