Florida football coach Jim McElwain put his team through a long practice on Wednesday getting his team ready for its game Saturday with the Missouri Tigers on Homecoming Weekend. The Tigers statistically are one of the best offenses in the SEC. McElwain says Homecoming Weekend in Gainesville is something special.

Missouri has been a threat to defenses around the country so far this season. Quarterback Drew Lock has 1,675 yards with 14 touchdowns. However the Gators are currently leading the SEC in passing defense, total defense and scoring defense and Florida ranks second in the league rush defense and sacks. McElwain says the secondary and the defense as a whole are going to have to play smart football on Saturday against a talented Mizzou offense.
Del Rio Back
Quarterback Luke Del Rio will make his first start back on Florida field after his leg injury three weeks ago. Purdue transfer Austin Appleby started in Del Rio’s spot the past two games. McElwain confirmed Del Rio will get the start but Appleby will still be prepared to enter the game.
