With Hurricane Matthew approaching, the Gator soccer game has been pushed up to 4 p.m. The Gators are facing Georgia in Gainesville at James G. Pressly Stadium.
Florida Notes
Florida (8-3, 3-2 SEC) is coming off of a 3-0 road win against LSU. In their last two games, the Gators have scored five goals and only allowed their opponents a total of 11 shots and no goals. Sophomore Melanie Monteagudo, who won SEC Offensive Player of the Week honors last week, said the team has put its focus on defense in order to get shutouts.
Georgia Notes
Georgia (3-8-1, 0-5 SEC) is currently on a four-game losing streak and looking to bounce back. Their most recent match was a 2-1 loss to unbeaten Arkansas. The Bulldogs are led in scoring by junior Jarion Crowder, who has five goals on the season.

As the Gators take on Georgia at home, they want to continue to stress their defensive dominance. While Georgia is looking for its first SEC win. Florida head coach Becky Burleigh discussed the importance of keeping focused despite any distractions in order to defeat Georgia.
The match is also going to be the Kicking the Cure match in which the Gators will be wearing pink uniforms in honor of breast cancer awareness. In her fourth year for Florida, captain Meggie Dougherty Howard always looks forward to this match as the team has the chance to bring focus to something that is more important than the sport itself.
