Dolphins Win First Game of Season in OT

The Miami Dolphins won their first game of the NFL season against the Cleveland Browns yesterday, defeating the Browns 30-24 in overtime. Jay Ajayi went on an 11-yard touchdown run for the game-winner to the send the Miami crowd home happy.

Dolphins quarterback Ryan Tannehill ran for 319 yards and three touchdowns in the game. Tannehill said it’s going to be tough sometimes but in the end, it’s all about getting the win. Another impactful player was wide receiver Jarvis Landry, catching seven passes for 120 yards. One of those catches was a 42-yard touchdown pass in the third quarter that helped the Dolphins gain some momentum. He also boosted the Dolphins offense with the 32-yard gain that set up the 11-yard overtime score by Ajayi.

Sunday marked the first victory for first-year head coach Adam Gase. This win also helped the Dolphins avoid what would have been their first 0-3 start since 2011. Even though his team did come out on top, Gase says the team needs to keep working towards getting better as a team.  The Dolphins will next travel to Cincinnati to face off against the Bengals on Thursday Night Football.
