The Gainesville High Purple Hurricanes will take on the North Marion Colts in a home non-conference game Friday night in Gainesville. The Hurricanes will look to continue their win streak and improve its 1-2 record. The Canes are coming off a 45-0 win over Lake Weir. Senior running back Ty Boyd was instrumental in the victory, finding the end zone three times. The Colts on the other hand have other ideas as they are coming off a victory as well; defeating the Pasco Pirates 20-7.

After starting the 2016 season 0-2, the Canes will hope to use the win over Lake Weir as momentum in its match up with North Marion. The running game, which was has been an issue, was a major factor in the Lake Weir game.

The Hurricanes will look for senior wide receiver Isiah Wilson who leads the team with 13 receptions and 179 receiving yards and senior running back Willie McKnight who leads the team with 28 carries and 234 rushing yards to play important roles in the game. Kick-off is set for 7:30 p.m. at Citizens Field.
