Thunder Welcome Warriors for Game 4 of Western Conference Finals

Earlier this year, the Golden State Warriors played 64 days into the NBA regular season before recording two losses. Just six days into the NBA’s Western Conference final, the Oklahoma City Thunder beat Golden State twice and took a 2-1 series lead by way of a dominant 133-105 home win in Game 3.

Oklahoma City will look to extend that lead tonight against the visiting Warriors, who are stumbling in a series that many thought was theirs for the taking.

Golden State’s esteemed backcourt combination of Steph Curry and Klay Thompson faltered in the Game 3 loss, combining for only 42 points – a full 10 point drop off from their combined regular season average of 52.1 points per game.

Curry and Thompson’s off night was amplified by the fact that no other Warrior reached double-digits in scoring.

Meanwhile, OKC’s offense was firing on all cylinders. The Thunder took advantage of fast break opportunities and put together a 38-19 run in the second quarter.

Warriors’ guard Steph Curry says Golden State must limit OKC’s transition offense.

Adding insult to injury, OKC tallied 45 third quarter points and they led the NBA’s defending champions by as many as 41 points during the victory. Kevin Durant led all scorers with 33 points on the night. Meanwhile, Russell Westbrook added 30 points of his own to compliment his 12 assists.

Durant says playing in front of OKC’s home crowd is a huge advantage against a team like Golden State.

Looking forward to tonight’s game, there are a lot of question marks for both Oklahoma City and Golden State; will the once-favored Warriors be able to bounce back from adversity? Will Westbrook and Durant get another shot at the NBA Finals?

According to NBA Analyst Charles Barkley, the winner of tonight’s game will take this series.

Tip-off from Chesapeake Energy Arena is set for 9 PM.
