The Florida men’s golf team rolling through 2016 now ranked No. 6 in the country following a second place team victory in Franklin, Tennessee. The Gators finished +1 as a team three shots behind the home Commodores who tallied a -1 score. The second place finish may have stung down the stretch but individually Florida thrived.
Gators scorecard:
1 Sam Horsfield (1) 70 70 66 206
2 Gordon Neale (5) 70 68 70 208
13 Jorge Garcia (2) 72 74 70 216
T32 Alejandro Tosti (3) 71 78 73 222
T53 Ryan Orr (4) 73 74 79 226
The first place overall and tournament win for Sam Horsfield now gives him three total tournament wins on the year. That mark is something special, first Florida freshman to accomplish that feat since 1977. Even Gator head coach J.C. Deacon is amazed with Horsfields game.
Horsfield alongside the second place finish from Gordon Neale has given this Florida team tremendous confidence heading into some of the biggest golf they will play in all year.
You make it look easy @hr59sam but what you're doing is SPECIAL!! Congrats on your brilliant play. @gordon_neale 👊🏼 https://t.co/W0lbNtq327

SEC Tournament play is next up on the slate for the orange and blue. The Gators finished last year’s SEC Championship at St. Simons Island seventh out of 14 teams. This year tournament in the same location will be held a week from Friday on April 15-17. J.C. Deacon is excited about the team heading into the Conference Championship.
