Florida Swim Prepares to Take on Tennessee

The fourth ranked Gator  men’s swim team and 11th ranked women’s team are preparing for their final dual of the regular season at Tennessee this Saturday.

Gator Head Coach Gregg Troy says the men’s team has some work to do after a close fall to Auburn last Saturday with a final score of 154 to 145. The women’s team will be looking to continue their winning performance as they came out on top, beating Auburn 192 to 108.

Both teams will be competing in a short course 25 yard pool during this meet, which is a switch up from the long course they previously competed in.

Troy says both teams are looking for wins this weekend as they look forward to a strong set up coming into the conference meet in February.

Troy wants both teams to come out aggressive and he has no intention on underestimating the competition. He says he is confident in where the teams are at so far in the season.

This will be the last meet of the regular season for 7 seniors on the men’s side and 9 seniors on the women’s team. They will all be looking for their best performances in an attempt to qualify for the conference meet.

The swim meet will kick off at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 30th.
