The Miami Dolphins suffered the only lost out of all Florida teams this week, falling to the Dallas Cowboys at home 24-14. The Dolphins couldn’t handle the return of Tony Romo, who threw for 227 yards and two passing touchdowns. Tannehill threw touchdown passes of 12 yards to Jordan Cameron and 29 yards to Kenny Stills. Darren McFadden provided offensive balance for the Cowboys by rushing for 129 yards. Robert Turbin, who joined the Cowboys on Wednesday, added 35 yards on seven carries against a team ranked next-to-last in run defense.
“We’ve got to stop the run,” Miami defensive tackle Ndamukong Suh said. “We didn’t do a good enough job in that area. That’s pretty much as simple as it gets.”
The Fins’ third down woes continued as they were one for 10 on third down conversions. Running back Lamar Miller gained 44 yards on just seven carries as the Dolphins fell to 0-6 in games where Miller has had less than 12 carries, according to ESPN Stats & information. They also only had 21 minutes of total ball possession. The Dolphins are now 4-6 and will most likely miss the playoffs for the seventh straight year.
