Gator Volleyball Falls to Texas A&M

The Florida volleyball team just wasn’t able to hold on Sunday afternoon at Texas A&M; after winning the first two games 25-20 and 25-19, the Aggies rallied to win the last three 22-25, 22-25  and 11-15 in the fifth to defeat the Gators in the final regular season SEC match for both teams.

Despite the loss, a few Gators really came out swinging with four players tallying in double digit kills.

  • Rhamat Alhassan, middle: 16
  • Alex Holston, right side: 15
  • Ziva Recek, outside hitter: 12
  • Simone Antwi, middle: 12

Alhassan also led the team with a .577 hitting percentage and six blocks.

Another key performer for Florida was setter Mackenzie Dagostino. She put up a season high of 55 assists and a total of 16 digs as well.

The Gators now stand with a record of 21-6 overall and 13-5 in the SEC. Next up, the final game of the regular season against LIU Brooklyn on Friday at 3:00 PM.
