After Florida volleyball’s victory over Alabama Friday night, they will now welcome the Tennessee Vols into the O’Dome. The Gators are now 19-5 overall and 11-4 in SEC play. Their last encounter ended in a sweep for Florida in which the Gators were able to keep the Vols under a .200 hitting efficiency throughout the match. Florida’s 42-7 record against the Vols under Wise is impressive, but she believes the team still presents challenges. Wise says the Vols are a low error team with an effective defense that may cause the Gators to showcase their unique hitting they used against Alabama. Florida middle blocker Rhamat Alhassan and outside hitter Ziva Recek were effective offensively in the first match-up against the Vols back row; Recek with 12 kills and Alhassan with thirteen.
Florida traveled to Knoxville to play Tennessee a month ago, defeating them 3-0. Wise says playing a team who they have encountered recently gives them the advantage when it comes to analyzing their strengths and weaknesses.
Florida will welcome Tennessee into the O’Dome Sunday afternoon at 1:30 PM and live coverage will begin at 1:20 PM on ESPN Gainesville 95.3 FM.
