The 5-3 New York jets will host the 4-4 Buffalo Bills in week 10 of Thursday night football. Buffalo head coach Rex Ryan returns to his former team in the matchup where he had been released from the Jets where he was head coach for 6 seasons. So as the show down begins the Buffalos have tough competitions.
The Jets come in with the No.1 run defense in the NFL in yards allowed per game with 645 yards. But the Buffalo bills counter back coming in at No. 3 for rushing offense with 1133 yards. And who can forget the battle between the two in 2014. The bills won by a 38-3 landslide against the jets. Overall the bills have defeated the jets over the last three meetings. Head coach Ryan Rex still believes that the jets are tough competition and they are both competing for the Playoffs spot.
The Jets will have to watch out for wide receiver Sammy Watkins. Watkins has been an amazing player for the bills this season but has had issues with an ankle injury. Many are excited to see Watkins and corner back for the Jets Darrelle Revis go head to head. Both players have a lot in common with being first round picks. Tyrod Taylor is also a big threat for the jets being the first in completion percentage in the NFL. Taylor has taken many top receivers off their game and is prepared to compete against the Jets.
The Jets may have lost a essential piece of the team after Antonio Cromartie left the Jacksonville game due to quadriceps bruise. Cromartie isn’t guaranteed to play in Thursday nights game. Running back Bilal Powell has been out the past three games with an injured ankle and also isn’t 100% for the game. On a brighter note corner Nick Mangold is recovering from a neck injury and has been to the last two practices and is probable to return to the starting line up.
Both teams will be the first to bring out the new uniforms for Thursday night play for the Nike color rush campaign. The bills will be in all read and the jets will unveil their Kelly green.
The game will air on ESPN Gainesville/95.3 FM starting at 8 p.m.
