Both the men’s and women’s swim teams fell to Georgia on Friday. The men lost 172.5 to 127.5 while the women lost 169 to 129. While the outcome wasn’t something that head coach Gregg Troy wanted, there were still some positives that came out of the meet.
Troy explained that both Natalie Hinds and Caeleb Dressel swam quite well. Hinds had three individual wins in the 50 and 100 free and 100 fly. On the men’s side, Caeleb Dressel recorded two first place wins in the 50 and 100 free events.
Not only did Dressel earn first place in those two events, he also recorded a U.S. Olympic Trial- qualifying time in the 50 free. Dressel was accompanied by both Jack Blyzinskyj and Corey Main who also recorded U.S. Olympic Trial- qualifying times in the 100 back.
There are things that the team can definitely take away from last weeks meet that they can use when the swim against South Carolina on Friday in the O’Connell Center.
