The Florida women’s golf team has concluded the fall portion of its season.
Florida coach Emily Glaser, is pleased with the way her team ended its season by capturing the team title at the Alamo Invitational in San Antonio, Texas last week in the final tournament of the fall. Junior Maria Torres brought home the individual crown and every member of the team finished in the top 25. The women had a successful season overall taking fourth, fifth, and eighth place finishes in their previous tournaments during the fall.
Sophomore Taylor Tomlinson racked up two top-10 finishes and her teammates Sydney Needham, Maria Torres, Karolina Vlckova, and Sam Wagner also had finishes in the top 10 as well.
Glaser talks about the off season being an important time to prepare mentally in order to keep this winning momentum moving forward into the spring season. She believes the team has the physical talent and will now have time to focus on the mental side of the sport. Glaser says she can see the trust starting to develop between the team members and an all around confidence is beginning to build as well. The team will pick up the season again on February 1 with its first fall tournament, the Florida Challenge in Lecanto, Florida.
