Florida Volleyball Sweeps Georgia

The Florida volleyball team continues its winning ways with a road sweep of Georgia on Sunday.  With the win over the Bulldogs, the Gators have now swept seven of their last eight opponents. The Gators won 25-12, 25-12 and 25-19.

Florida’s record has now improved to 17-4 overall and to 9-3 in SEC play. The Gators tallied in a total of 42 kills while Georgia only had 19.

Some key players for the Gators:

  • Setter Mackenzie Dagostino had 25 assists and 10 kills
  • Outside hitter Carli Synder hit an error free .500 and led the team with 12 digs
  • Middle Rhamat Alhassan also went error free with a hitting percentage of .667
  • Outside hitter Ziva Recek led with 12 kills

Coming up next for the Gators, a Friday night match up back at home against Mississippi State. This will be the first and only time these two teams will meet this season. Mississippi State currently holds a record of 13-10 and 3-7 in conference play.

First serve in the O’Dome on Friday is set for 4:00 PM.
