The Gator volleyball team went on the road to give Kentucky their first SEC loss of the season Sunday afternoon. Florida lost the first set 25-22 but they were able to rally back. The Gators won the next three sets with scores of 25-21, 25-22, 25-20.
Florida is now 13-4 overall and 5-3 in SEC play. Florida middle Rhamat Alhassan tallied a double-double with 12 kills and 10 blocks. Another UF player, outside hitter Carli Snyder also finished with a double-double, 11 kills and 17 digs.
Next up for the Gators, they are back at home to face Arkansas for the second time this season. In the last match up against the Razorbacks it went to a full five sets with the Gators falling short losing three sets to two.
Arkansas leads the SEC in assists averaging 12.96 a set. However, Florida currently leads the conference in hitting percentage with an average of .304, 14.14 kills per set, and 3.06 blocks per set.
The Florida and Arkansas game is this Friday with first serve in the Stephen O’Connell Center set for 7:00 PM.
