The Florida volleyball teams faces Missouri this Wednesday. The Gators are coming off a tough loss to Kentucky last Sunday that gives Florida a record of 9-2 overall. Florida outside hitter Carli Snyder had 16 kills and 14 digs in their match up against Kentucky, and she says falling to the Wildcats was a learning experience. “It’s not a total loss for us. I think we are going to go into practice more fired up than we would be if we had won this match,” she said. Between all SEC teams, the Gators hold the top spot in three different categories with a .311 hitting percentage, a 14.32 average kills per set, and a 3.21 average blocks per set. For the Missouri Tigers, playing the Gators will be their first SEC match up of the season. Missouri is currently 12-1 overall and follow closely behind Florida as they are ranked second in hitting with a percentage of .301. Florida head coach Mary Wise says Missouri is a much improved team. “They have one of the best outside hitters in the league amongst their other talented players,” she said. Wise coached Missouri’s outside hitter Carly Kan in the World University Games and says she is one of her favorite players. “She was one of our players that we couldn’t afford to have off the court in international volleyball and it’s true of this Missouri team again this year.” The Gators take on the Tigers Wednesday at
8:00 PM in Columbia, Missouri. Live coverage of the game will begin at 7:50 PM on ESPN Gainesville 95.3 FM. To hear audio from the story, listen here: Snyder says loss will motivate Wise talks about Missouri’s team Wise talks about Missouri’s Carly Kan
