Florida women’s tennis will head to Waco, Texas for their 32nd trip to the NCAA Tournament Round of 16. The Gators defeated Georgia Tech 4-0 in the second round of NCAA regional action Sunday in Gainesville to advance.
Doubles action started out strong with Josie Kuhlman and Belinda Woolcock taking their match 8-2, followed by Brooke Austin and Kourtney Keegan winning 8-5. Kuhlman and Woolcock improved to 2-0 in NCAA doubles play, while Austin and Keegan got their first NCAA win as a pair.
Woolcock took her momentum into singles play sweeping straight sets, 6-1 and 6-0. Brianna Morgan added another victory 20 minutes later, defeating her opponent, 6-2 then 6-3. Kuhlman earned the final point in her singles match after taking straight sets, 6-3 and 6-2.
The Gators will start in the Round of 16 on May 15th.
