Bucs continue downward spiral, lose to Browns

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers lost to the Cleveland Browns 22-17 on Sunday.

Not a lot of scoring early, as the only points in the first quarter came from a 49 yard field goal by Brown’s kicker Billy Cundiff.

The second and third quarters saw a bit more action with Bucs quarterback Mike Glennon throwing two touchdown passes to Mike Evans. The Browns had two field goals in the second quarter and a touchdown in the third quarter.

The Bucs then had a fourth quarter lead but ended up losing the game after wide receiver Taylor Gabriel scored a touchdown after a 34 yard pass from quarterback Brian Hoyer.

“We just gotta stop losing, it’s as simple as that,” said defensive tackle Gerald McCoy.

Hoyer completed 21 of 34 passes for a season high 300 yards with two touchdowns and two interceptions.

Glennon completed 17 of 33 passes for 260 yards with two picks and two touchdowns.

The Bucs are now 1-7 and the Browns are 5-3.

The Browns play Thursday night against the Bengals and the Bucs play the Falcons on Sunday.
