City Royals 8-1 as Madison Bumgarner goes seven strong innings to get the win for the Giants. Game 2 tonight in Kansas City. ** The UF women’s basketball team was picked to finish ninth in the SEC this year in the annual preseason media poll. South Carolina was picked to win the league. ** Former Gator quarterback Tim Tebow is critical of UF’s offense. On a Jacksonville radio station, Tebow says the offense lacks leadership and does not have an identity. ** A UF football verbal commitment has flipped his allegiance; linebacker Jerome Baker from Ohio has flipped to Ohio State from Florida. ** Former Gator wide receiver Solomon Patton was released by the Tampa Bay Bucs and the Dallas Cowboys release defensive end Michael Sam from their practice squad. ** The Santa Fe Saints volleyball team, in its first year of existence, clinches a spot in the State Tournament after getting a win over Lake Sumpter State College last night.
