The Gator soccer team finds itself in State College, Texas to take on the on the only other SEC team with a perfect league record, Texas A&M. Both teams are entering this Friday match up with 3-0 records in the SEC.
The Gators are coming into this game after two wins last weekend; 2-1 against Georgia and 3-1 against Missouri.
“We still have a lot of areas to grow and we’re still forming chemistry between different pairs of players and positions on the team,” said Gator head coach Becky Burleigh. “I think we have a big ceiling and I think the games coming up are going to push us there, you know. We are really looking forward to playing great competition, because that great competition is what usually elevates us.”
The Aggies are also coming off two weekend wins beating LSU 4-1 on Friday and Ole Miss 2-1 last Sunday.
“They are definitely someone that is on the rise in our conference. I think they’re up as high as maybe number three or four in the national polls now and they’re athletic, they’re experienced, they’re an older team… very similar to us. They don’t play quite the same way we do, but we definitely have a lot of respect for what they’re doing,” said Burleigh.
The Gators will also take on Arkansas Sunday.
