With seven seconds left in the game, Tampa Bay quarterback Mike Glennon delivered a five yard touchdown strike to Vincent Jackson, which would end up being the game winner for the Buccaneers as they went on to defeat the Pittsburgh Steelers, 27-24 Sunday.
The game-winning drive started with the Bucs on the Steeler 46 yard line after a poor Pittsburgh punt. On 2nd & 10, Glennon hit former Gator Louis Murphy for a 41-yard gain to get Tampa Bay all the way down to the Pittsburgh five yard line. Then, Glennon would hit Jackson for that game winner.
Here’s Gene Deckerhoff’s Game-Winning Call on the Bucs Radio Network.
Glennon, in his first start of the year, threw for 302 yards with two touchdowns and an interception. Murphy led the team in receiving yards with six catches for 99 yards, while 2014 first round pick Mike Evans would have four catches for 65 yards and a TD before leaving the game with a groin injury.
This was Tampa Bay’s first win of the season; they’ll face the New Orleans Saints in an NFC South match up next week.
