It has been a long off-season for the top-ranked Florida gymnastics team, but this weekend they will open the program’s 42nd season.
The Gators will return to the site where they won their first NCAA team title to take on No. 4 UCLA this Saturday.
Coming off a national championship 2013 season, Florida’s head coach Rhonda Faehn says she is eager to kick off the new year.
The Gators will showcase many familiar faces, including four returning All-Americans, one being sophomore Bridgette Caquatto.
Caquatto suffered injuries last year that led to two operations and stress reactions in her shins. In spite of all those challenges, she managed to still compete and contribute to the team’s national championship run.
The sophomore has had time to heal and prepare for the upcoming season. Coach Faehn says that Caquatto is ready to compete.
The Gators and the Bruins will go head-to-head Saturday night at 10 pm.
