The Florida hockey team is hoping to tack another W to the win column this weekend as it goes head-to-head with the USF Ice Bulls.
Florida boasts a record of 5-1-2 (4-0-1 in SEC play) coming off their most recent win against the Georgia Ice Dogs in Jacksonville this past weekend. The game was played the night before the storied Florida-Georgia football match-up, only about five miles away from EverBank Field. The Gators outscored the Ice Dogs with a 12-1 final score.
Gator senior goalie Jake Lewis says he was elated to continue the win streak against the Ice Dogs in Jacksonville.
Looking ahead to the USF series, the Ice Bulls (5-9-1) are just ahead of the Gators in conference standings with 11 points to Florida’s 10.
Lewis says that although he doesn’t know what to expect this weekend, the rivalry is always intense.
The Gators will host the first game of the series on Sunday, November 10th at the RDV Sportsplex Ice Den in Orlando; on Monday, the teams will switch roles as the Gators become the away team at the Ellenton Ice and Sports Complex in Ellenton, Florida.
