Defensive Coordinator for the Florida football team, D.J. Durkin talked about the Gator defense today as it prepares to take on Vanderbilt Saturday. Durkin says despite a lot of injuries on defense, that is just something you have to deal with as a team and it’s not something you can control.
The Gators did not have a great first half defensively against the Georgia Bulldogs in their game last weekend, but Durkin is still proud of the way they came out and played in the second half. He thought they had a good response and it showed when the defense didn’t allow a single point in the second half.
The Gators play a team in Vanderbilt that is also 4-4 and looking for their second win in the SEC this season. Durkin has been going over his tape and knows that they shouldn’t be judged by their record. He says that the offense is pretty good and shouldn’t be overlooked.
The Gators play at noon this Saturday with coverage starting here on ESPN 850 WRUF at 8:00 in the morning.
