The Florida baseball team is riding a season high six-game win streak as they get set to open a weekend series against Missouri. The Gators are 20-18 overall and 8-7 in SEC play. The newest member in the SEC East is 12-20 so far and 4-11 against conference foes.
The Gators and Tigers will meet in the sixth of the ten league series at Taylor Stadium in Columbia. Florida enters the series riding the longest overall winning streak in the SEC. UF has won its last four league outings.
During the six-game win streak, Florida is hitting .303, with a 2.83 ERA and boasts a fielding percentage of .974 (six errors).
So far in SEC play, the Gators fell to Kentucky twice in their SEC opener, dropped another series to Vanderbilt, took two out of three against Ole Miss, lost a series to Mississippi State, but then swept the Gamecocks this past weekend.
The Tigers have only captured one of its five series in conference action. The Tigers kicked off SEC play by losing two out of three to South Carolina, fell twice at Tennessee, was swept at home by LSU, won a series against Georgia, and then got swept by Vanderbilt last weekend.
On Friday, the Gators will send Jonathon Crawford (2-5, 4.17 ERA) to square off against Mizzou lefty Rob Zastryzny (2-6, 3.67 ERA). Saturday’s probables will be Danny Young (1-3), 3.51 ERA) going for the Gators against Tigers righty Brett Graves (0-5, 5.24 ERA). Both teams have yet to release probable starters for Sunday’s game.
