** The Major League Baseball season opened on Sunday with the Houston Astros moving to the American League and getting a win, topping the Texas Rangers 8-2. Today, a whole host of games will be played in season openers.
** The Miami Heat did not have Dwayne Wade or LeBron James against San Antonio but the Heat won anyway 88-86.
** The defending champions in women’s college basketball and overall number one seed Baylor is gone, losing to Louisville 82-81. Tennessee plays Louisville in a regional final as does Georgia against Cal and Kentucky against Connecticut.
** Gator softball sweeps Ole Miss 8-0 and 8-7 to improve to 35-3 overall and to 10-2 in the SEC; UF hosts UCF Wednesday.
** Both Gator tennis teams win; the men 4-0 over Arkansas and the women 7-0 over Arkansas.
