Florida Track and Field ready for SEC Indoor Championships

Track and field programs across the SEC converge in Fayetteville, Ark. today for this weekend’s SEC Indoor Championships.

The indoor season is winding down with the NCAA Indoor Championships just two weeks away. Despite the lengthy season and numerous meets across the nation, Florida Track and Field coach Mike Holloway still maintains that the SEC Championships are among his favorites.

Holloway adds more to why he likes this event.

The Gators are hoping to bring home some hardware with sophomore Marquis Dendy among those who can make an impact. Dendy turned in a nation-best mark in the men’s long jump last Friday with a leap of 7.99m to capture the event at the Virginia Tech Elite Meet, before following that up Saturday with a personal best triple jump leap of 16.10m. Holloway has been impressed by the sophomore’s growth this season.

The SEC Indoor Championships run from Friday through Sunday.
