Florida Women’s Hoops Will Play At No. 14 Georgia Sunday

After an 88-81 loss at home against the Ole Miss Rebels Thursday night, the Gator women’s basketball team looks to rebound as they play at Georgia this Sunday.

With its third consecutive home loss, the Gators fell to 13-7 overall (2-4 SEC) while Georgia (16-3, 4-2 SEC) enjoyed a bye on Thursday. Georgia suffered its first home loss of the season against Texas A&M 64-46 on Sunday. Florida enters a five game stretch with four of them on the road that starts with Georgia on Sunday and Missouri on Thursday.

All six of Florida’s SEC games have been decided by eight points or less and Florida’s fortunes may turn for the better with the return of senior forward Jennifer George who leads the team in double-doubles this season. In 23 minutes against Ole Miss, she scored six points and grabbed five boards.

Is chemistry a problem with this team? Junior guard Jaterra Bonds says the team doesn’t have any chemistry and says the coaches give them the right tools, but they are not using them wisely.

With a lot of games left in the SEC, Gator coach Amanda Butler says they have to improve in several different areas to be able to stay afloat in the league.

Tip-off is set for 1 p.m. Sunday in Athens.
