Week 6 of the NFL will come to a close tonight as the San Diego Chargers (3-2) host the Denver Broncos (2-3) in Qualcomm stadium on Monday Night Football. However, Sunday’s games are all in the books.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers (2-3) defeated the Kansas City Chiefs (1-5) 38-10 in Raymond James Stadium. Tampa Bay quarterback Josh Freeman led the way going 15 of 26 for a season high 328 yards and three touchdown passes, two going to Vincent Jackson. Tampa Bay’s defense joined in with a 78 yard interception return for touchdown by safety Ronde Barber, his eighth career return for touchdown.
However, they were not the only Florida team with a win.
The Miami Dolphins (3-3) beat the St. Louis Rams (3-3) 17-14 in Sun Life Stadium. Miami quarterback Ryan Tannehill went 21 of 29 for 185 yards and two touchdowns. The first of his two touchdowns went to wide receiver Marlon Moore, who caught is first TD pass of the season.
Miami has a bye this week.
In other action, the New York Giants (4-2) defeated the San Francisco 49ers (4-2) 26-3 in a rematch of last year’s NFC championship game. Giants quarterback Eli Manning went 15-28 for 193 yards and a touchdown, while the Giants defense posted a stellar performance holding the 49ers to just one field goal.
The Green Bay Packers (3-3) knocked the Houston Texans from the unbeaten ranks (5-1) 42-24 on Sunday Night Football. Green Bay quarterback Aaron Rodgers went 24-37 for 338 yards and six touchdown passes, three to wide receiver Jordy Nelson. The Packers never trailed the entire game.
The Atlanta falcons (6-0) barely beat the Oakland Raiders (1-4) 23-20 making them the only undefeated team in the league. The Cleveland Browns (1-5) beat the Cincinnati Bengals (3-3) 34-24 giving them their first win of the season while the Seattle Seahawks (4-2) edged the New England Patriots (3-3) 24-23.
The Jets, Lions, Ravens, Bills, Redskins, and Titans also came away with wins in Week 6. The Bears, Saints, Panthers, and Jaguars all hadthe week off.
