University of Florida quarterback Jeff Driskel is the SEC Offensive Player of the Week for his performance last Saturday against Tennessee. Driskel threw for 219 yards and ran for 81 more in a Gator win over Volunteers.

** Peyton Manning throws three interceptions as the Denver Broncos lose to the Atlanta Falcons 27-21 on Monday Night Football. Falcons quarterback Matt Ryan threw for 219 yards in the contest as Atlanta goes to 2-0 while Denver falls to 1-1.
** New Orleans Saints linebacker Jonathan Vilma met with NFL Commissioner Roger Goodell to discuss his suspension which has been lifted temporarily. No timetable has been set to finalize his suspension or lift it.
** The NHL is still in a lockout with no end in sight. No talks are scheduled between the league and its players and some are predicting a long lockout.
** The SEC has suspended South Carolina safety D.J. Swearinger for a hit on a defenseless player during Carolina’s win over UAB last week.
