New OC Pease Ready to Refine Gators Offense

On the fourth day of Spring Practice for the Florida Gators, new offensive coordinator Brent Pease sat down with members of the media to share his insight on his new offense. Pease had plenty heaped onto his plate in his first few weeks as the OC for the Gators, and will continue dealing with those issues all the way up to next seasons’ kickoff on September 1st against the Bowling Green Falcons.

Amongst the issues facing the offense includes the quarterback battle between sophomores Jeff Driskel and Jacoby Brissett, former wide receiver Omarius Hines’ transition to the backfield, the need for one of the current receivers to step up as a go-to guy, and the retooling of an offensive line, that at times, struggled mightily last season.

Pease, who spent most of his tenure at Boise St. as the wide receivers coach says he’s placed an emphasis on working with his new wideouts early this Spring, because there’s a lot of intracacies that come with learning the position thoroughly.

Fans can catch their first glimpse of Pease’s offense at the annual Orange and Blue game on Saturday, April 7th at 1:00PM.
