Gators Softball Sweeps Mississippi State; Baseball, Lacrosse Win Too

The third ranked Gators softball team has opened SEC play with a doubleheader sweep at Mississippi State after beating the Bulldogs 1-0 and 8-5 on Wednesday.

Hannah Rogers threw a one hitter to get one win and she saved the other Gators win as well as Florida moves to 21-1 on the season.

Meanwhile the top ranked Gators baseball team has now won 10 straight games after pounding Florida A&M 15-2 Wednesday in Gainesville.   Freshman Justin Shafer got a start in the outfield and made the most of it with six rbi and he pitched an inning of scoreless relief as well as Florida improves to 12-1 on the season with a weekend series at home with Florida Gulf Coast next up starting Friday.

And Gators lacrosse gets a 12-9 win at Georgetown on Wednesday as well as the Gators improve to 5-2 on the year.
