NFL Preview: Tampa Bay Buccaneers Visit San Diego

After a 14-5 upset against the Seattle Seahawks the Tampa Bay Buccaneers (6-5) will look to increase their win streak to four games as they travel to San Diego to play Phillip Rivers and the high flying Chargers.

Last Week

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers are coming off of an impressive win against the Seahawks where the defense stepped up only allowing 245 total yards and forcing 3 turnovers. The 14-5 victory Jameis Winston had a impressive game managing the tempo throwing for 22o yards and a pair of touchdowns to Mike Evans. The San Diego Chargers (5-6) are also coming off a 21-13 victory against the Houston Texans. The Chargers and Phillip Rivers will hope to carry his three touchdown performance to week 12 against the Buccaneers.

Bucs O vs. Chargers D

With the success last week of Jameis Winston, the Bucs will need to take advantage of the Chargers lack of pass defense this Sunday. The Chargers pass defense ranks towards the bottom of the league and with weapons like Mike Evans, Winston will look to have another efficient game in the air. WR Mike Evans will be a key piece in this matchup. Evans is having likely his best season as a pro bringing in 73 receptions, 10 touchdowns along with 1,020 receiving yards. Its safe to say Evans is one of the better receivers in the NFL.

With one game back from a division tie for first place, the Buccaneers and their rejuvenated defense will need to stop the Phillip Rivers passing attack.

Chargers Season

The struggling Chargers will try to start a win streak of their own with hopes to rise in the standings. However, the Chargers are having an up and down season losing four out of their six losses by a combined fourteen points. The Chargers are in last place in arguably the best conference in the AFC with red hot teams like the Raiders, the Kansas City Chiefs, and last years Super Bowl Champion Denver Broncos. In this season of close defeats and talks of relocating the team to Los Angeles, the Chargers have a couple of bright spots. Quarterback Phillip River is having another Pro Bowl like season as well as running back Melvin Gordon—who is approaching 1,000 yards rushing in his second season.

Kickoff from San Diego is set for 4:25 p.m.
