Dobbs’ Farewell
The game marks the Tennessee farewell for quarterback Josh Dobbs. Dobbs, who is majoring in aerospace and mechanical engineering, has led the team this season amidst internal struggle. Conflict consumed the team culminating in running back Jalen Hurd’s announcement that he would transfer.
Tennessee head coach Butch Jones spoke on how much Dobbs has meant to the university.
The last time these two teams met, Tennessee ruined former Missouri coach Gary Pinkle’s home finale. This year, the Tigers are looking to return the favor by making Josh Dobbs’ final home game a loss and upset the Volunteers and their chances at winning the SEC East. The Tigers are coming off of their first SEC victory last week against the Vanderbilt Commodores.

Coaching Preparations
Missouri head coach Barry Odom spoke on how the team managed to put everything together for their first win of the season.
The Tigers aren’t about to let their limited success go to their head though. Odom is concerned with containing Tennessee’s explosive offense.
Jones is worried about Missouri’s high powered offense, who averages over 30 points a game, but also is wary of their defense, which leads the conference in interceptions with 13.
Division Implications
The Volunteers are still in the hunt for the SEC East championship, but it all comes down to Florida Gators and LSU in Baton Rouge that kicks off two and a half hours before this game. If the Gators lose and Tennessee wins out, the Volunteers win the East division.
Jones, however, isn’t focused on this. Instead, he is only concerned with what he can control.
Will Tennessee stay in the hunt for the Eastern division? Or will Missouri put the nail in the coffin for Tennessee’s season? Kick off is at 3:30 p.m. on CBS.
