It came down to a goal line situation again in the Seattle Seahawks and New England Patriots rematch. However, the tables turned this time. Two years ago, the Seahawks found themselves one yard away on fourth down from scoring in the final seconds, but were stopped. This led to a New England championship victory. On Sunday night, the Patriots were in the same situation down 31-24 in a fourth and one situation. With seconds remaining, the Patriots were stopped and it resulted in a Seattle victory.
Game Recap
Patriots tight end Rob Gronkowski wasn’t able to grab the pass from Tom Brady, but it did not come without controversy due to plenty of contact in the end zone. Gronkowski didn’t place blame or whine about the situation, but instead credited the Seahawks.
The Seahawks left Foxborough with not only a W, but also after having picked up a measure of revenge on the Patriots. This victory does not compare to a championship, but it certainly improved their record to 6-2-1 and kept them in first place in the NFC West.
A big part of why the Seahawks beat the Pats on the road was quarterback Russell Wilson, and his 348 yards and three TDs. It’s usually Brady in the QB spotlight, but last night he wasn’t able to throw any touchdowns. Brady finished the game with 316 yards and was picked off once.
The man who stole the show for the Pats and did the most damage to the Seahawks D was running back LeGerratte Blount. Blount ran for three touchdowns in the game. The man who matched Blount’s production on the Seahawks side was wide receiver Doug Baldwin, who caught all of Wilson’s three touchdown passes.

Both offenses were even in touchdowns, but it came down to Seahawks kicker Steven Hauschka kicking four field goals to give his team the extra lead.
Despite the loss, the Patriots still lead the AFC East with a 7-2 record.
It’s safe to say Seattle and New England are two of the top teams in their respected conferences, and both these teams will most likely fight for a spot in the playoffs.
