Florida Lacrosse’s Captains Bragg, Davies Named Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominees

No. 4 Florida lacrosse’s Theresa Bragg and Kaitlyn Davies were both named Tewaaraton Top-25 nominees Thursday.

Their nomination marked the 14th consecutive season the Gators have had a player on the top-25 list (besides 2020).

The captains were selected from a watch list of 73 athletes. UF is one of five schools with two or more players in the top 25.

Junior Defender Theresa Bragg

Bragg leads the Gators with 23 caused turnovers, while also recording 19 ground balls and three draw controls.

The Maryland native has started in all 15 games, earning Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team honors and three Big 12 Defender of the Week honors.

Junior Midfielder Kaitlyn Davies

Davies has tallied 31 goals, five assists, 20 ground balls, 15 caused turnovers and 25 draw controls in her 15 starts for UF. The New Jersey native has also had 10 multi-goal games and five hat-tricks this season.

She has also received Inside Lacrosse Midseason All-American Second Team honors and one Big 12 Midfielder of the Week honor.

2025 Tewaaraton Top-25 Nominees

The list is reduced to five finalists in early May. The men’s and women’s winners are announced on May 29 at the Tewaaraton Ceremony in Washington, D.C., after the collegiate lacrosse season ends.
