The Gators (24-14, 4-11 SEC) opened the day at Condron Family Ballpark with a 5-0 win behind a dominant start from Aidan King (4-1). Florida then edged out a 3-2 walk-off win in Game 2 thanks to Blake Cyr’s two-run homer and Brendan Lawson’s RBI single in the seventh.
“We put ourselves in this position, right? So, every game’s important. We told them at the end, it’s really just one pitch at a time,” UF coach Kevin O’Sullivan said.
Gators Dominate Game One:
King was stellar and Florida used an offensive burst to clinch the series.
King was nearly untouchable, tossing 5.2 shutout innings, allowing four hits while striking out seven. Jake Clemente entered in relief and shut the door to earn the save with 1.1 scoreless innings and two strike outs.

Florida broke the tie in the third inning with an RBI single by Colby Shelton that scored Ashton Wilson. In the fourth, Brody Donay’s RBI triple pushed the lead to 2-0. In the sixth, Florida put up a crooked number, thanks to a two-RBI single from Bobby Boser and an RBI double by Justin Nadeau.
Boser led the way offensively, going 3-for-4 with two RBI and a stolen base. Nadeau chipped in with an RBI double, and Donay provided a key triple to drive in a run.
Florida secured its first SEC series victory of the season.

Luke McNeillie got the start and gave Florida a solid outing. He went four innings while allowing just two hits and one earned run with five strikeouts. Alex Philpott gave up the tying run in the sixth at 2-2, but held the Tigers (12-23, 0-15) in check the rest of the way. He earned his first win with three innings of relief and gave up just one run and striking out four.
The Gators’ offense was powered by a go-ahead two-run homer from Cyr in the fourth inning and the clutch late-game execution. Ashton Wilson started the seventh when he was hit by a pitch. Justin Nadeau followed with a double to put runners at second and third. After the pitcher intentionally walked Colby Shelton and an out, Brendan Lawson delivered a hard single through the right side to score Wilson with the game-winner.
Cyr finished the game 1-for-2 with a home run and a walk. Lawson went 2-for-3 with the game-winning RBI and a walk.
Series Recap
Florida, winner of four consecutive games, outscored Missouri 19-4 across the three games. After struggling in SEC play, the Gators showed their potential — dominant pitching, timely hitting and aggressive base running. Florida pitchers struck out 18 batters over 14 innings Saturday, while the offense combined for 12 hits and drew 14 walks.
The Gators will look to carry this momentum into Mississippi State, as the second half of the season ramps up next weekend. But first, Florida welcomes Stetson for a 6:30 p.m. game Tuesday (SEC Network+, ESPN 98.1-FM/850-AM WRUF).
