Pitching struggles continued from the previous night for the Hurricanes (6-7). Four pitchers were used throughout the game, three of whom featured in the lengthy fourth inning.
Junior Connor Kemph got the start on the mound and lasted two innings, allowed four hits and seven runs. Junior Cade Dixon replaced Kemph during the third inning with runners on first and second. Dixon struggled against the red-hot Raider bats.
Despite the tough night pitching, Kemph led the way for the Hurricanes at bat by going 2-for-3 with two RBI.
The frustration started to boil over for the Hurricanes late in the bottom of the fourth inning. Coach Adrian Ramos removed starting catcher junior Jackson Dugan as there was a pushing-and-shoving match when the last run of the night crossed home plate.
