Southern Cal won its first NCAA Indoor Championship on Saturday at the Virginia Beach (Va.) Sports Complex in 53 years. The Trojan men’s team secured 39 points. Georgia finished second with 33 points.
On the women’s side, Oregon secured their first team title since 2017. The Ducks led with 55 points and the Bulldogs came in second with 39 points.
The Gators only competed in two events: the women’s triple jump and men’s 4×400 relay.
Final Finishes
Freshman Asia Phillips placed 10th in her event with a 13.11m leap. Her effort closes out her successful indoor debut, including a 13.32m personal best in the Tyson Invitational in February.
The men’s squad in the 4×400 relay came in at eighth place with a 3:06.93 run. The event featured a disqualification for Texas A&M for making contact with Arkansas. The Razorbacks protested for a rerun, but were denied, giving the Trojans enough points to secure the men’s title.
We FINALLY have an official men's 4x400m NCAA Indoor champion 😬
