Top 3 Moves In First Week Of NFL Free Agency

The first week of the 2025 free agency period has been nothing short of explosive, with teams making different moves to upgrade their rosters for the upcoming season. From high-profile trades to game-changing signings, the NFL has seen some major changes.

The Washington Commanders are Going All-In

The Washington Commanders made a big splash, trading for WR Deebo Samuel from the San Francisco 49ers and OT Laremy Tunsil from the Houston Texans.

Deebo Samuel is one of the most versatile offensive weapons in the NFL, with the ability to line up as a wide out or running back creating a variety of schemes and possibilities. Meanwhile, Tunsil is one of the best left tackles in the league, improving the protection for QB sensation Jayden Daniels.

Coming off an NFC championship game appearance, this double acquisition makes Washington a serious contender in the NFC East.

Davante Adams Arrives in Los Angeles

The wide receiver room for the Los Angeles Rams got completely shake up, signing Davante Adams to a two-year deal. This pairs Adams with QB Matthew Stafford and WR Puka Nacua, a match made in heaven. Adams, 32, is a precise route runner and has the ability to make plays in clutch moments.

After releasing Cooper Kupp early this week, Adams becomes a perfect fit for Matthew Stafford. This not only improves the Rams’ offense, but adds a veteran leader to the locker room, upgrading their chances to win the NFC West.

New England Looks to Turn Things Around

The New England Patriots made two significant free agency signings to bolster their roster: DT Milton Williams and CB Carlton Davis III. Williams is coming off a Super Bowl victory with the Philadelphia Eagles, meanwhile Davis had a strong 2024 season with the Detroit Lions.

Williams, 25, adds depth and versatility to the Patriots’ defensive line. His ability to rush the passer is a much-needed boost for a team that prides itself on defensive schemes.

On Carlton Davis side, he’s a standout cornerback, with the ability to cover receivers and be physical in press coverage. Davis brings not only skill but leadership, something that helps elevate a young New England defense.
