Gators Men’s Tennis Set To Play Arkansas

No. 27 Florida Gators men’s tennis will face No. 29 Arkansas on Saturday at noon at the Alfred A. Tennis Complex.

The Gators are 8-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play. Florida has a three-game losing streak after losing to Texas, 5-2, at home, followed by two more road losses to Oklahoma, 4-0, and Texas A&M, 7-0.

The Razorbacks are 14-6 overall and 3-3 in SEC play. Arkansas is coming into this match from a loss to No. 25 South Carolina, 4-0 on Thursday.

Florida will have the home advantage. Florida is 7-1 at home, but 0-5 away. The Razorbacks are 9-2 at their home courts and 4-3 away.

History

The last time the Gators and Razorbacks faced off was on April 12, 2024 at Arkansas. Florida came up short losing 4-3. However, in program history, Florida has defeated Arkansas 22 times and lost twice.

Both teams recently faced No. 22 Oklahoma. Florida lost 4-0 on March 6 compared to Arkansas losing 6-1 on Feb. 24. They have also both faced SEC opponent Texas A&M resulting in the Gators losing 7-0 on Saturday, and the Razorbacks winning 4-1 on Feb. 28. Lastly, both teams defeated Alabama 4-3.

Player Comparisons

The Razorbacks have two players in the ITA sinlges rankings: No. 82 Lukas Palovic and No. 124 Jakub Vrba. Palovic and Vrba are the only two players on the team to have double-digit single wins this season.

For Gators men’s tennis, Jeremy Jin is ranked No. 62, Henry Jefferson is ranked No. 90 followed by Adhithya Ganesan at No. 95. Florida also has two ranked doubles pairs: No. 19 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Jefferson, and No. 68 Nirundorn and Ganesan.
