Despite what the scoreboard showed Tuesday, the Buchholz boys’ lacrosse team never gave up during its 11-3 loss against visiting Ponte Vedra Nease High School
Strong Start
The game began with the Bobcats (4-7) showing their desire to win by scoring a goal right away. Attack No. 7 Kade Griggs was responsible for getting Buchholz on the board first.

Shortly after the Bobcats’ goal, Nease (5-4) scored two in a row. In response, Buchholz scored again to tie it up. The infectious atmosphere showed that the Bobcats’ coaches and parents are their biggest fans. By halftime, Nease led 4-2.
Bobcats Show Grit
Despite trailing, it was clear how determined the Bobcats were to keep playing their best. Even with what some might consider bad calls by the referee, the Bobcats played their hearts out until the final whistle. Goalie Jackson Collins stood out with several saves that kept Buchholz in the game.
