The Florida Gators men’s tennis team is 8-7 overall and 3-3 in conference play, while Gators women are 4-6 overall and 3-3 in the SEC.
Men’s SEC Play
The men’s team started SEC play with home advantage. The first four SEC matches were played at the Alfred A. Tennis Complex. The Gators started SEC play with three straight wins: 7-0 against Auburn on Feb. 22, 4-3 against Alabama on Feb. 24, and 6-1 against Kentucky on Feb. 28.
However, the Gators lost their home momentum with a 5-2 loss to No. 3 Texas. No. 18 Oklahoma defeated Florida, 4-0 on Thursday. This was the Gators’ first SEC road loss. On Saturday, the team lost again 7-0 to Texas A&M.

The men have not been able to secure a road win against an SEC opponent, but they are back at the Alfred A. Tennis Complex on Saturday taking on Arkansas.
Women’s SEC Play
The women’s team started off SEC play on the road with a 5-2 loss to No. 11 Auburn on Feb. 23. Florida could not bounce back, suffering another loss to No. 25 South Carolina, 4-0, on Feb. 28. No. 1 Georgia handed the women their third road loss in a row, 4-0, on March 2.
The Gators earned their first SEC win at their first home conference match at the Alfred A. Tennis Complex against No. 13 Texas, 4-3, on Friday. However, they were not able to hold onto the momentum on Sunday losing 4-0 to Texas A&M.
On Friday, the women’s team will be on the road again to take on Mississippi State.
ITA Rankings
As of the March 11 rankings, Florida’s men’s team dropped to No. 27. Three Gators hold ranks in the ITA singles rankings: No. 62 Jeremy Jin, No. 90 Henry Jefferson, and No. 95 Adhithya Ganesan. Florida doubles pairs are ranked: No. 19 Tanapatt Nirundorn and Henry Jefferson and No. 68 Nirundorn and Ganesan.
Gators women’s tennis has one player in the ITA singles rankings, No. 50 Rachel Gailis.
